SupportCategory: WP Content PilotContent Pilot is not importing full text
Mary Donnelly asked 4 weeks ago

Hi, content pilot used to provide the full text from the source, now it is only importing a tiny amount of the beginning.  Did the amount of content you can import change?

Hi Mary,
It would be great if you mentioned the campaign type. Without the campaign type, we are actually blind. We have noticed this for the Twitter campaign and Twitter API is actually returning that much information so we have nothing to do with that. Content Pilot works with API of different platforms and if the API does not serve full content then there is nothing much we can do. Apart from that, the template tag called “content” is responsible for showing the full content. I believe you have put that right. Please share the campaign type so we can give you a better solution.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. The campaign type is Feed, I have one Rss feed link in the feed links, {content} is the only thing written in the posts section.

Thank you for reaching us again. The {content} tag is responsible for fetching everything that it can find so your campaign is fetching full content without any doubt. Feeds used to provide more content earlier but they are now providing excerpt like contents. If you follow this link then you will find the amount of content under each feed is very low. Thank you.

This was my original question,
“Hi, content pilot used to provide the full text from the source, now it is only importing a tiny amount of the beginning.  Did the amount of content you can import change?”
So, it seems like your answer is yes, but too complicated.
Yes or no?

Sorry for the confusion but this answer is a bit complicated. WP Content Pilots ability to import content depends on the provider. As the provider is giving less content so our ability has reduced. If the provider gives content like before we can import a lot of content. Hope I did not further complicate this. You can take it as a “YES” as the providers have reduced the amount of content they used to provide. Thanks a lot.
